Research Fellow - Chemical Engineering, University of Strathclyde
A postdoctoral research position is available now, for up to two and half years, to model the growth of ultra-thin films as used for optical coatings.
This project forms part of the 5-centre EPSRC Materials Modelling Consortium "A Multiscale Modelling Approach to Engineering Function Coatings".
The modelling will employ accelerated dynamics techniques and scaling theory. Candidates should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in physics or a related scientific/numerate discipline.
Candidates should also have good computational and materials modelling experience, and a willingness to collaborate with the consortium partners.

This position is available now and ideally will start by 1 November 2007. The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis with an end date of 30 April 2010.
The salary offered on appointment will be £26,666 per annum on Grade 7 of the Salary Scales for Research Staff.
